What You Consume Consumes You
Consume the “news” opinions, anger, death, destruction: all agents of fear aimed at hooking you in a bit longer to sell more ads and make you too scared to look away.
Consume more alcohol
Consume more fast food
Consume more pharmaceuticals
You consume whatever the environment you’re in is offering and you become what you consume
Remember the saying “you are what you eat.” Well add “you are what you listen to” you are what you watch”
If you spend copious amounts of time watching anxiety provoking reality shows or doctored social media photos with messages that you are not enough (looks, money, adventure, friends...) or eating from magical diets that falsely promise quick results and instant happiness then your day and life will follow suit. Is there any wonder why you go through the day anxious, afraid, feeling unworthy and unproductive?
What environment are you choosing to spend time in?
Experiment:
Turn off the news and replace with something inspiring. A book, Ted talk, podcast etc..
Block or remove anyone on social media that when you see or hear, you feel “less than”
Do not spend time with people that you do not feel good around. Unsupportive people that are more than willing to hold you back from living your life fully.
Life can be joyous and light if you are willing to give it a try.
