Ultimate life hacks = shortcuts to fulfillment

WE ALREADY AND ALWAYS HAVE WHAT WE NEED: Food water shelter. Done

We don’t have what we want and we confuse that with we don’t have what we need; that is the “problem”.

Our society (consumer capitalism) thrives on creating wants and disguising them as needs.

Lipstick on a pig has been replaced with filter on a post. It’s an image designed to activate your jealous and envious impulses in order to extract money for a false chance at lasting happiness.

We reek of the decay of chronic unfulfillment by listening to others tell us what we want and what we need and most significantly how that crap will enhance our existence by bringing us joy and happiness. And so we consume. Like a black hole swallowing planets of cool shit and Instagram worthy vacations never slowing down enough to ask ourselves; Is this what I really want? Do I exist in a state of joy or just splash a little on my face where it quickly evaporates leaving me constantly reaching for more and better.

I’m not saying that it’s wrong to have wants.

I am saying that labeling a want as a need brings forth a immense challenge of living a fulfilled life.

An experiment for your consideration:

Take a want and label it a need out loud eg: “I want a new car” to “I need a new car”

“I want a partner” to “I need a partner”

How do you feel when you believe that thought?

Does that feeling serve you?

Needing is deficit. Living a life of chronic lacking does not allow our natural creativity to flourish and create solutions.

Now say out loud “I have everything I need”

How do you feel when you believe that thought even if only for a moment.

How does it feel to make a decision on something knowing that you have everything you need?

“I want a new car”

A want can be turned into a project if you feel it is important.

A need becomes a burden of desperate emptiness where life can never be enough.

Consider slowing way down and take some time to think about what it is that is really really important to you. That your needs are already fulfilled and take one small step toward what you really really want in life.
